Sensor procurement for energy inspection

Thermal and visual inspections can have different data requirements. The purchasing brief should identify the asset and the required inspection output without assuming one camera handles every task.

The purchasing decision

Ask the operator for relevant scene conditions, required measurement mode and report workflow. Review lens selection, mounting, files and calibration together. Replacements should preserve the validated configuration unless a change is formally accepted.

Keep these records

  1. Inspection deliverable.
  2. Scene and measurement conditions.
  3. Data-processing compatibility.

Give each record an owner and a revision or date. If a supplier proposes a different part or test condition, record it as an exception for review before treating the quotation as equivalent.

Turn the review into a sourcing request

Start with the linked component checklist, add the actual platform and part identity, and state quantity, destination and timing. List unresolved requirements explicitly so the first discussion can focus on those gaps.
