Thermal visualization versus temperature measurement

A thermal image can show relative patterns without supplying the calibrated data an inspection team expects. Buyers should make the intended deliverable explicit.

The purchasing decision

Ask whether the device provides the required measurement mode, file output and metadata. Request representative records and stated accuracy conditions. Define inspection acceptance with the end user rather than substituting a resolution or color-palette comparison.

Keep these records

  1. Measurement mode.
  2. Sample files and metadata.
  3. Accuracy conditions and reviewer.

Give each record an owner and a revision or date. If a supplier proposes a different part or test condition, record it as an exception for review before treating the quotation as equivalent.

Turn the review into a sourcing request

Start with the linked component checklist, add the actual platform and part identity, and state quantity, destination and timing. List unresolved requirements explicitly so the first discussion can focus on those gaps.
